Vintage Colony Harvest Milk Glass Tumbler
Only one is offered so, perhaps, you have broken one or worse, you broke one of your mother-in-law's! This snowy white tumbler was first made in the 1950s by Indiana Glass Company. It was never sold under that name; but was trademarked and sold by the Lancaster Colony Company. This milk glass pattern became very popular in the '50s and '60s. They were primarily purchased by using S & H Green Stamps. At that time one stamp was given for every dollar spent in retail shopping primarily at grocery stores. I remember my mother would not shop where "Green Stamps" were not given! A book of stamps was 300 stamps and were redemable at their specialty stores. This 12 ounce glass is very heavy weighing one pound. It stands almost 6 inches tall and is 3 1/2" in diameter at the opening. This would make a beautiful vase for a brides table or guest book table if not used for drinking. It is heavily embossed with grapes and leaves. While it is obviously pre-owned, it shows no signs of wear, no chips, cracks, chips or repairs. Imagine that at almost 70 years old! It just shines! Do not hesitate to ask me any questions you might have regarding this offering.
