About ShopGrammysThings
First, let me thank you for taking the time to visit my little shop. This is a new adventure and it is my hope to share some of the “pretties” I have collected over the years as well as some I may find interesting along the way.
Forty plus years ago I had the good fortune to be married to a widower whose late wife collected a good deal of glass, crystal, silver, and all things 40s, 50s and 60s…just the things we now call “retro.” Because his grown children expressed no interest in these things or had gotten the items they wanted after their mother died, they remained in our home after his death. Both my mother and step-father died in the past five years. They entertained a great deal up until they were almost ninety! They had a bunch of “pretties” as well that came my way.
Having recently retired the idea of an Etsy shop has been lurking in the back of my mind! My husband and I live in a rural area on a small farm. Neighbors are spread out and because we have always worked there has been limited opportunity to get to know people. Honestly, I am bored! I cannot see myself joining the garden club…or going to the senior center. Looking around at all the lovely things I have accumulated, I realize someone will need to do something with all of it one of these days. I want things to go to people who will appreciate them, either because they are a collector or because the piece just “called their name.” With many pieces, there is a story to tell. I will happily relate any interesting tidbits to the buyers regarding anything I know about a piece.
I am being as honest as I can possibly be about the condition and description of each piece. I will happily answer any questions you might have. All the items are vintage and have been used accordingly. There will be no cracks, chips, or damage except as noted on the piece and there will be a picture noting the same. Please look at all the pictures to make certain you are satisfied with the item and read the description carefully. I will gladly accept returns if notified within three days of arrival. Customer satisfaction is very important! The buyer will be responsible for returned shipping costs. If the item is returned broken in shipment the buyer will be responsible for taking it up with the shipper for compensation.
I am looking forward to a long and interesting adventure on Etsy…check back with ShopGrammysThings often to see what has been posted! It is a labor-intensive effort to post an item so there will be new things all the time.
All the best to all visitors!
