These two cups and saucers are absolutely beautiful and in perfect condition. The Apple Blossom pattern was discontinued after 1989 and inasmuch as it is impossible to tell the exact date of their manufacture, it is sufficient to say these two beauties were made between 1942 and 1989. Haviland is one of the most well known makers of fine china. Theodore Haviland died in 1919 and his son, William, was left with his father's legacy. The company was part of the famous Limoges line. Because of the European markets, William moved part of his manufacturing to the U.S. in 1942. The Pennsylvania factory was opened in that year. These lovely cups and saucers are clearly marked made in New York, therefore, we must surmise they were made sometime after 1942. These cups and saucers are very thin and dainty. The saucers are 5 inches in diameter, cups are 3 3/4 inches in diameter including the handle and are 2 1/2 inches tall. With the saucer the pair are 3 inches tall. These two cups and saucers are two of the most beautiful and delicate items I have ever owned. And, no, the pair will not be seperated.
