Made in Occupied Japan figurine of lady playing her lute. After World War II while the United States occupied Japan, all the china, collectibles, figurines, etc. had to have "Made in Occupied Japan" on the piece. Because of the devistation suffered by Japan, their art work and figurines did not have the quality that the Japanese artistisans produced before the war. This piece still has vibrant color to spite being around 75 years old. Unfortunately, the top of her insturment has been broken off. This is not an obvious flaw. I did not realize this until I was getting this lovely lady ready to photograph. Otherwise, this piece is in excellent condition. Please see the pictures for detail. If you can't tell from the pictures that she has suffered a casualty, then maybe she needs to join your collection. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you might have about this lovely lady. Dressed in red, white and blue the figure reflects the colors of the USA.
