Delft style figurine of lady playing the piano: This lovely little lady is just precious! From her little fingers to the candlesticks on the piano...she is perfect! Don't you love the way her bustle puffs out from behind? Hard to believe that in the "old days" ladies needed to pad their backsides to have a figure. Now days, thanks to our diets and no exercise, we grow our own! This would be a perfect gift for a little girl or teen that is learning to play the piano. Not having that experience is a regret of mine! I am not sure when this figurine was made. I saw one like it that sold for $35 last year but could not get any information about it. There seems to be a maker's mark on the bottom or it could just be a pontil mark. I can't make it out. Nonetheless, I am thinking at least ten years ago. Because she has remained free of cracks, chips, breaks or repairs I will make sure she arrives in the same condition. She has obviously had great care over the years. She is very delicate.
