Ceramic egg: covered trinket box or candy dish. This decorative egg is perfect for Easter. Top half of the piece lifts off to reveal a deep container that would be perfect for jelly beans, or candy eggs. Put the prize egg in the over sized container...who would think of looking there for a hidden egg? The shiney pearlized glaze is white with hints of pink and blue. It is much lighter than the pictures indicate. The bottom is marked with a Japanese makers mark which I have been unable to identify. Additionally, the same mark has been impressed in the clay before firing. The top of the egg is decorated with a wreath of blue flowers trimmed in gold. On the front and back of the "foot" hand painted flowers and leaves again appear. This piece is quite lovely. It measures 7" long, 4 3/4" tall, 4 3/4" wide at the largest part. The actual bowl is 2" deep. There is not a blemish, crack, chip or repair on this pretty egg.
