Porcelain trinket box
Lipper Mann (L&M) Bond Ware porcelain trinket box. When I was a little girl my mother had one just like it on her vanity. Can't remember when it wasn't there...in the 50's. "Back in the day" these were used as cigarette boxes. Everybody that smoked had cigarette boxes sitting around on coffee tables, etc. Since cigarettes were 25 cents a pack it was considered appropriate to offer a smoke to guests in the home. This is a very delicate piece. It is in surprisingly good condition. Some of the gold edging is a bit worn, but that adds to the romance of this little beauty. Delicate pink roses with their leaves accent the top. Mom smoked but she didn't keep cigarettes in hers. Naturally, in that era cigarette boxes were the "thing." This dainty box measures 4 1/4" long, 3 1/4" wide and about 3 3/4" tall including the flowers on top. The shipping box size and is an approximation. Buyer will have the exact shipping charges given when the box is ready to go. Needless to say, every effort will be made to have it arrive without damage. If there is damage in transit, buyer will be refunded.
